Reception at the Embassy of Ukraine for the Occasion of Student Day

Ukrainian students in the United States and American students of the Ukrainian origin are sincerely invited to take part in the Reception at the Embassy of Ukraine on November, 18th, for the occasion of student day. This ceremony aims to establish links between the Ukrainian students from different universities and cities, as well as between students and the Embassy and students and local Ukrainian organizations.

Participation in the event is free. Organizers do not compensate any costs associated with participation in the event. Organizers will make efforts to provide free accommodation for participants from other cities.

To participate in the event you need to register by November, 10. Seating capacity is limited.

PROGRAM

Friday, November 18:

Students’ Borsch
13:00 - 15:00 | Rosslyn Metro Station, ground level, outside the station
We will have a lunch with Ukrainian borsch in Arlington, VA, and then will have a nice picturesque walk across the Potomac river to Georgetown, where the Embassy of Ukraine is located.

Reception at the Embassy of Ukraine
16:00 - 19:00 | 3350 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20007
Tour the Embassy, communication with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the US Oleksander Motsyk and other representatives of the diplomatic corps. Presentation of the Federation of Ukrainian Student Organizations of America (SUSTA) and other Ukrainian organizations and resources of Washington Area and the entire country, which can be useful to the Ukrainian students.

19:30 - 22:00 | Georgetown (address will be announced later)

Saturday, November 19:

Short historical tour of Washington, D.C.
10:00 - 13:00 | Meeting near the Liberty Bell in front of Union Station at 9:50. Metro: Union Station. During this tour we will see the main tourist sights of the American capital: Capitol, White House, Washington and Lincoln memorials, memorials to the the Vietnam, Korean and the Second World Wars.

Farewell Lunch
13:00 - 15:00 | Official completion of the program, sharing contacts, saying “do zustrichi”.

All the activities but the Embassy reception are optional. The program could be a subject to minor changes.
